a Royal Midnight Snack
A downloadable game for Windows
A long time ago, in a faraway land, a princess woke up in the middle of the night. Having entertained a handsome prince the evening before, she had gone to bed exhausted. Now, in the dead of night, she's very much awake and feeling slightly peckish. As her staff is sleeping soundly, she'll have to find something by herself to satisfy her appetite.
This short point-and-click adventure features the vocal talents of Lottie Bourne as the princess, Jason Hall as the vampire, JD Kelly as the ghost knight, and Shaun Mendum as the castle guard. The musical score was composed by Jay Man and licensed through our-music-box.com.
Made in 6 days for AdvJam2023 (yes, I couldn't do anything during the first week).

Vampires hate garlic... And please note that the garter is elastic.
very good
Thank you!
Short funny game with nice graphics and voice acting. Despite the menu was missing and you need shortcuts (state 13.06.2023), I like the GUI with the chest. Although you only made it in 6 days and some talking animations were missing, it turned out pretty well.
I'm happy the princess found her snack in the middle of the night. :D
Couldn't let her go to bed without having a bite to eat, now could I?
Main menu can now be accessed by hitting Escape and there was a settings menu added for some quality of life improvements.
I never knew Mondrian made tapestries ...
Now THAT is a princess after my own heart. Move over, Disney. The story and puzzles are well written, the art style is neat and the voice actors are excellent. And I think I detected some humour here and there :)
A fun little game, got a good laugh out of it.
Glad you enjoyed! And yeah, I've included that particular Mondriaan in all of my adventure games (with one exception) as a bit of a running gag.
That was a nice example of what can be done in only half the available time. The puzzles flowed nicely and had an appropriate conclusion. I might have liked to know more about the characters but it was just a short story. In addition to VO, the visual effects were nice. Was this done in your custom engine?
It was indeed. Apart from a tiny little bugfix, the engine's internals are unchanged from my previous game, The Telescopium Incident. And I intend to update the game after the voting ends with a bit more descriptive responses, some other interactions, and more/smoother animations.
Loved it! This had a lot of well designed puzzles and humorous inventory combinations. Plus having the voice work, enhanced everything about the unique situation in the castle. Project made for a nice "snack" sized adventure. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it. The voice actors are amazing and I loved that I was able to incorporate their work into my game. It adds so much to the atmosphere!
I had the fortune of playtesting this charming game. It was a lot of fun!
Thanks for helping to test, my friend!
